Hi 507759,
My 540I has a Home Depot racing DIY intake (probably doing mo re harm than good, I need to get a OBD-II logger and confirm my intake tem ps via intake temp sensor) and a B&M short throw shifter. My 540I is n ot the sport model. It has a 2.81 open rear end. No LSD :-(
I wish I ha d the M5 3.15 LSD rear end. I'd likely pick up maybe 1 more mph and about 3 tenths.
 
 
I was surprised it wasn't closer to 4,000lbs to be honest. These are HEAVY cars. Friggin land yachts.... :(

Hey guys, I'm the owner of the 540I and the owner of the 350Z is a very goo d friend of mine. He has run 8.7s@80mph in the 1/8th mile and my 540I ran 9.00@80mph in the 1/8th mile with two clogged cats and a CEL. From a dig, the 350Z being the lighter car is slightly quicker(stock vs. stock) but af ter the 1/8th mile mark acceleration seems to be nearly identical. Thanks for the comments guys.
